Born and raised in Southern West Virginia, I grew up surrounded by voices that wove together history, humor, and heart — turning the everyday into something extraordinary.
As a writer, my work is shaped by the rhythms of the Appalachian Mountains, where storytelling is as natural as breathing. Whether it’s a family fable, a bit of front porch wisdom, or a memory that lingers, I believe stories shape who we are.
I write creative nonfiction with a deep love for the stories of my upbringing, the experience of mothering, the meaning of caregiving, women’s lives, and grief. Sometimes, I dabble in poetry. In every piece, I write to connect — to build community, to honor where we’ve been, and to leave something behind for those who come next.
My daughters are the loves of my life, and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that love, loss, and the resilience that carries us forward have a way of teaching us who we really are. Life keeps changing, and I keep writing about it.
I’m glad you’re here.

U rock. That’s it.
